    Heritage Weekend Saturday

    This page details the events and activities taking place from 9:00am to 5:00pm at First Parish on Saturday, April 13. 

    Everything is open to the public and totally free (except for the Food Service and fundraising sales items).

    Lightning Talks

    Rainbow Room and Music Room (downstairs)

    These 15-minute talks will run all day in two classrooms downstairs. The 30-minute time slots will allow time to chat with the speaker and easily move around to other talks or activities. Specific talks and speakers and the schedule are still in the works, but will include topics such as the following.

    Start in the First Parish Lobby

    Illustrated and annotated brochures will allow you to experience and learn about key Nutfield features nearby, including:

    • Early Settlers and Notables in Forest Hill Cemetery

    • Historic Sites in the Upper Village

    Artisan Demos

    Nutfield Cooperative Classroom 1 (downstairs)

    Live demos should include local Nutfield Pottery craftsman Mike Gibbons, plus an exhibit of flax- and linen-related tools and methods.

    Kids Activities

    Nutfield Cooperative Classroom 2 (downstairs)

    A variety of fun activities for kids of every age will help them learn about the Scots-Irish heritage and culture (while also keeping them entertained).

    Meetinghouse Preservation

    1769 Meetinghouse

    Videos, displays, and guided tours will tell the story of one of the most significant historic preservation projects taking place in New Hampshire. A live demonstration by primary contractor Preservation Timber Framing will explain materials, joinery methods, and more.

    History Displays & Museum Tables

    Lobby and A/B Classroom

    Area history museums and historical societies will be present, with table displays and staff ready to show off “Nutfield” and help answer all your historical questions.

    Food Service

    Currier Hall

    Snacks, entrees, and beverages will be available throughout the day (for modest fees).
